Xu Bing: You Inhuman Thing

A moving-image work in the Art at the Stair series. Xu Bing builds it around the online tests that ask users to prove they are human, cutting rapidly between clips from social media, news, film, satellite surveillance, wildlife documentaries and video games, and asking viewers to judge whether the actions shown are humane, ethical or logical. The title comes from a Chinese insult for someone heartless.
