Design for the Forbidden City: Imperial Workshops of the Qing Court

The first major exhibition on the Imperial Workshops of the Qing court, set up inside the Forbidden City in the Kangxi period and at their height under Yongzheng and Qianlong, which made and repaired the objects used and displayed by the emperors. More than 150 objects from the Palace Museum trace the Workshops' history, organisation, materials and methods, in a display designed with Hong Kong designers that links Qing court aesthetics to design today.
